It’s Medicare season and time to review your coverage.

Hi, my name is Josh Workman and I’m a Medicare specialist here at McMichael insurance agency.

We’re coming up on Medicare season or annual enrollment as some people call it. The dates for annual enrollment this year are going to be from October 15th through December 7th. Annual enrollment is an important time of year because it’s your chance to review your plan to see if it’s what you want for next year, or if you need to change something.

For next year there are several benefits that you may want to consider, things you may have seen advertised on TV such as dental, vision, hearing benefits, over-the-counter items, credits, food cards for groceries, or even things like Part B give back plans that put money back on your the Social Security.

I’ve been doing this for a number of years and, although those benefits I just mentioned are important, they are not the only thing you need to consider when selecting a Medicare plan.

For the coming year you also need to consider things like: Is my doctor in network, are my prescriptions covered at the lowest possible cost and is my plan generally something that’s going to be meeting my healthcare needs for the coming year? Know that when we talk, you’re not going to get a sales pitch. When I review plans with my clients, sometimes we get to the point where we say your plan is the best fit for your situation and stick with it. However, if your plan is not best for your situation and you can get something better, I’m going to tell you that as well. We’ll move to something that’s a better fit for you.
