Our History
McMichael Insurance was founded by Lester McMichael, who earned his insurance license on December 12, 1975. Through years of community involvement in Streetsboro and Portage County, and a genuine commitment to helping others, Lester built lasting relationships throughout the area that became the foundation of the agency.
From the very beginning, McMichael Insurance was built on the belief that exceptional customer service, trusted advice, and long-term relationships should always come first. Those values continue to guide our agency today.
Over the years, we’ve continued to grow by expanding our carrier partnerships, enhancing our expertise, and investing in technology that allows us to better serve our clients. While our agency has evolved, our commitment to personalized service has remained the same.

Gerald McMichael
Gerald joined McMichael Insurance in 1982 and has served as President since 2001. After beginning his career in personal insurance, he launched the agency’s commercial insurance division in 1990, helping businesses throughout Northeast Ohio manage risk and protect their operations.
He earned his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1994 and continues to lead the agency with a strong focus on client relationships, education, and long-term growth
Dennis McMichael
Dennis joined McMichael Insurance in 1989 and serves as Vice President and Personal Insurance Advisor. He earned his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1999 and has spent decades helping families find the right protection for their homes, vehicles, and personal assets.
Dennis is committed to making the insurance process straightforward while ensuring every client receives personalized guidance and exceptional service.
Mark McMichael
Mark joined McMichael Insurance in 1998 and dedicated many years to serving our clients and community. Following a successful career with the agency, he retired in January 2025. We are grateful for his years of commitment and the lasting impact he made on both our clients and our team.
